We performed for the elopement wedding of Fred and Laura at Moore and Moore Cafe Fremantle last weekend. Despite the pandemic, and the couple’s plans to travel to Whitsunday Islands for their wedding being cancelled, the two decided to celebrate their love here in Freo. Inviting only their dearest in WA, we felt so privileged to be standing amongst them, and having that opportunity to bring a bit of Brazil to them.
It was perfect!! You guys are very talented! Amazing how you can sing Portuguese so well. Can’t wait to have you play for us again.
Moore and Moore Cafe is once again transformed as the clock strikes 5:00pm, magic begins. I sang ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ (Alyssa Baker’s rendition) as requested by the groom. As Laura walked in, she was like a million stars, each step, revealing the lyrics of the song. It was Fred and Laura’s moment. Pastor Franco, also a family friend, married the couple bringing even more meaning into the moment.
So beautiful!!! It was an incredible evening! Even more special with your songs.
We fell in love with the venue, Fred and Laura’s love, and oh the people. Little Poppy and Marina took us all about exploring during our short breaks and we gave Didi’s (Moonbeam) leather jacket to warm Laura’s darling pups. It was down the rabbit hole, and we didn’t want to come out.
Towards the end of the evening, Fred and Laura slow danced to our Moon River (‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’) and romantic latin swings. This evening, classic bossa novas like Você e Eu (João Gilberto), Garota de Ipanema and Corcovado were anthems. It was sparkly.
Thank you Fred and Laura for having us. It was a tremendous hearty wedding of your love, no lack in lustre. 5 days of wedding planning and you both absolutely nailed it! x
