Stackwood Wedding Market: ‘Welcome to Our Forever’

Stackwood Wedding Market: ‘Welcome to Our Forever’

Welcome to our Forever‘ is not just the current season in our lives, it has been since 2013 when we got married. So when we turned up for Stackwood Wedding Market yesterday, I literally melted when the wonderful Jasmyn showed us our ‘spot’. On the wall was Rachel’s (from Chi Borello) beautiful calligraphy on a simple unassuming white fabric. It was hung from a branch covered with pretty leaves, and it stood lightly waving to us in the light breeze that was coming through the beautiful hall. I hopped around like a rabbit. This was our burrow,… for the next 4 hours anyway. 🙂

The space was beautifully decorated and designed and styled by some of WA’s nicest and most incredibly talented souls. So before we go on, we want to say:

Thank you STACKWOOD for having us on your Preferred Vendors list. It is a real privilege working with such an amazing creative team.

When Didi and I graduated individually from our studies (him – Math – he’s super at it; and myself – sociology & literature), we had a choice, choices to be exact, to decide the paths we wanted. It was music that we chose, individually then, and then we were immensely blessed to have met, and continue to grow together on our musical journeys and in our marriage too. But it was last night, when we met beautiful souls who CHOSE to follow that little voice that pushed them to seek creative work, all in one place, that I felt encouraged to remember why we love our work. It is hard to describe magic, but i will try.

We hadn’t a chance to meet every single person at the fair, it is our loss. But we tried. And those whom we have had the privilege of doing so, thank you for welcoming us into your little stories of creativity. How your businesses grew from that first love for the first stalk of wildflower, your first snap, or your first bake. My heart is full.

The Wild Stem, Ashleigh, if you haven’t met her, you need to. Her sincerity and kindness are so precious. It shows in her work. I wanted so much to buy a small bunch from her but we were moving. But i love her singular dedication the beautiful natives. Her display i have come to name ‘Purple Banksia Dream’ is really more than that. She has helped me identify a pretty sunray before. I love everlastings now. See her work and join her workshops (!): thewildstem.com.au @thewildstem

What an honour when we had so much love also from Chi Borello (Claire & Rachel, thank you), Through The White Door bridal, Christine Lim Photography (we must somehow have that double date, Didi thinks you are comedian material ;)), Sarah from Lyndley Mill, Sara and Jessica from Jessica Josie Photography (thank you for the little dances, you girls are so cute, and thank you for saving that spider – DD and I are very grateful!), Sarah from Heart Strings And Hire (lovely meeting you in person!), Shosh Krugar (for all the skittle-sugar fix! Hope you recover from that sunburn soon!), Sarah and Jasmyn from Stackwood (you girls are MARVELLOUS and so beautiful at heart – thank YOU), La Paleta (we didn’t chat – but thank you for your love, pretty smiles and the bicycle!), … I know i would have left someone out, but it would be our loss, so please forgive us if we did.

And thank you for your video story of us, we LOVE it, so we leave you all with a still extracted from it. This is how spoilt we were with our pretty corner. – xx P+M
