We had the pleasure of playing for Ade and Pang at The Sapling Event Space in West Perth. It is not often you get to work with such a creative and handy bride. She had upcycled some of the fabulous vintage furniture she found in op shops as furniture for the wedding itself. But just so we don’t miss out some of the amazing things she created, here’s a little list from what we recalled!
Upcycled vintage furniture
Designed/created the packaging to the cookies (made by Sweet Li Cakes) that were given out as door gifts
Designed the neon lighting, the furniture
Organised and coordinated the event with the help of Flower Talk
But beat this, she was also the photographer for the day!
How she managed, we are still scratching our heads.
But she also had the closest of friends as her wedding crew for the day. We are grateful for the little part we had in playing the music for the afternoon.
Music Highlights at Wedding of Ade and Pang at The Sapling
Our favourite highlights of the afternoon was singing ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ as her recessional piece. Not often chosen as a walk-out song, this brought a very beautiful quiet and attentive moment to their celebration. Marry Me by Train was their walk-in song, and LOVE by Nat King Cole, their signing song. We also loved playing a mix of Mandarin tunes for their Singaporean and Malaysian friends who flew in for the wedding.
Theirs was a long-distance relationship for a while. And to see them overcome these physical challenges by and by, we cannot help but feel immensely happy for them.
Thank you so much for having us at your wedding Ade and Pang!
